About Us
NEL was formed in 2007 with just one team – from there we have grown rapidly to cater to over 900 children aged 4-18.
Our development was recognised by the FA in 2009 and 2010 as we were awarded the West Riding FA & Regional FA Charter Standard Development Club of the Year; followed by winning the Grassroots Club of the Year in 2019.
Most of our teams play at Gledhow Sports Club, with others playing on Soldiers Fields and Potternewton Playing Fields. Our youngest teams will play their games at 5s Soccer Centre from September!
We now run 32 teams for boys and girls and we have recently been awarded FA Community Club status recognising our positive work within our local community!

How We Play
Our Philosophy
…..is pretty simple – we want to teach our young players how to play the game in a modern and technical manner. We want to teach our players to master the ball at a young age, to allow our players to be confident on the ball. We want to play out from the back, play through the thirds and encourage creativity and risk taking. Most importantly we want to see smiles on faces; to play with sportsmanship and humility.
